THE ART OF ENTERTAINING: YUMMY FALL RECIPES

With the somewhat crisp weather we had this weekend, I was inspired to dig up some Fall recipes. I turned to the Queen of Fall Recipes, Martha Stewart, and composed a really fun menu from the Seasonal Produce Guide on Martha Stewart Living. We were sure to include pumpkins, apples, butternut squash and sweet potatoes for a well-rounded Fall menu.

For our first course, warm your palette with a Roasted Pumpkin Soup. This hearty soup is creamy, but cream free. Consider serving it with a sprinkle of cinnamon roasted pumpkin seeds on top for a little crunch.

Apples are in season from August thru November and there are so many delicious ways to incorporate them into recipes, whether sweet or savory.

For our main course, how about a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon, Apples & Sprouts. Adding apples to the sandwich is a great way to balance the richness. It wouldn't be complete without a side of caramelized sweet potato wedges, a perfect compliment to this yummy lunch.

We can't forget about the butternut squash from our fall four-some...but would you expect it to be part of dessert? Check out this delicious recipe for Rice Pudding with Candied Butternut Squash. The candied orange marmalade, vanilla bean and ginger makes my mouth water! This is certainly "delicious sophistication" at its finest!

As the weather continues to cool off and we get closer to Thanksgiving, the more fun recipes I want to try! Sometimes the ole' traditional favorites are great and other times, we like to get adventurous!

What are some of your favorite recipes? Share them with us!

Cheers,
