Planning events can be stressful, whether you are the event planner or the guest of honor.

As an event planner, you may work ridiculously long hours, carry the weight of the world on your shoulders for several clients at a time and may have no other option than to eat not-so-good for you meals on-the-go or maybe not even have time to eat anything at all and we are likely all over caffeinating.

As a client, perhaps a Bride, planning an events can be a lot on your plate too. You may be working a full time job in addition to planning your wedding, which can often feel like a full time second job, even with an event planner. So many meetings, so many decisions to be made, family dynamics, budgeting and of course the big day itself can take a toll - you may need to detox those extra glasses of champagne that you had as you finally unwind to enjoy it all.

peach white baby shower cake

We are pleased to announce that our sweet baby girl, Lochlynn Elyse Toepfer was born April 26, 2014 at 8:44am, weighing in at 7 lbs 7 oz and 21" long!

That being said, I haven't had too much time to blog recently, but I wanted to be sure to share some of the beautiful pics from my baby shower, hosted by my sweet sister, dear friends and of course styled by the lovely Liv by Design team.

We had some of our favorite vendors in on all the fun. Big thanks to Word of Mouth Catering, Simon Lee Bakery, Marquee Rents, The Good Life Furniture Collection, STEMS Floral Design and the great photos captured by Ziem Photography.

wedding fonts 101

The words on your invitation have a big impact on setting the stage for your wedding—not only by what they say, but how they say it. Whether your wedding is traditional, casual, elegant, bohemian or whimsical, you will want to select fonts that communicate the right mood and personality to your guests. Before you dig through thousands of fonts on the internet, here are a few things you should know about typography.

bring home the oscars

The Academy Awards is this Sunday, March 2nd...not only a fun night for TV, but a great excuse to throw a party!

Since the famous celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck is celebrating his 20th year of planning the menu for the Governors Ball for the Oscars, I thought it would be fun to share some of the hors d'oeuvres that he is cooking up for it this year along with the design trends that Sequoia Productions has dreamed up and a few signature cocktails and games to inspire you for your own Oscar Viewing Party.

What ideas will you incorporate?

Wedding season is upon us, and for those of you planning your stationery needs, you may be wondering, "Where do I even begin?" Though it might seem backward, a great way to start is by making decisions about printing—even before you tackle all the design details.

Knowing which printing method best fits your style and budget will help you make informed decisions during the design process and avoid pesky unexpected costs!

For the 2013 F1 race, we are thrilled to be designing the ultimate Sports Bar, a German Biergarten, a Mexican Cantina and the official Formula Gamezone. Come by and see us!

With the somewhat crisp weather we had this weekend, I was inspired to dig up some Fall recipes. I turned to the Queen of Fall Recipes, Martha Stewart, and composed a really fun menu from the Seasonal Produce Guide on Martha Stewart Living. We were sure to include pumpkins, apples, butternut squash and sweet potatoes for a well-rounded Fall menu.

Well, as you may have noticed, we have taken somewhat of a hiatus on blogging for the past year! We know that is not the best practice and we've certainly missed sharing all of the exciting things that have been happening over the course of the year! We have been busy growing our team, moving into a new office, expanding to other cities and producing some of the most exciting events and gorgeous weddings in town!

We are excited to be back on our blog and have so much to share, but first I would love to re-introduce the team and show off some of our newest members that you may not even know yet!
